Low Power Mode is helping me through winter

Life has felt a little overwhelming as of late. Looking back through my scattered journal entries, it appears that around this time each year things start feeling a little stressful. It's the autumn/winter time that does it for me, and so many others I'd imagine. The days grow shorter and colder, and in my line of work (or vocation) things start to get incredibly busy.

So what's helped me in the past couple of days is the discovery that I can switch into what I'm calling "low power mode". It's where I simplify everything. The effort that I put into things lessens, and I just get by doing the basics of whatever is needed. Just show up, do what you have to do, and count it as a win.

It's early days, but I'm discovering that "the basics" is actually good enough. Just me turning up is enough. I don't have to put on an amazing show each time. Nobody is wanting that anyway - it's all in my mind. I just need to take a deep breath and do what I have to do.

And then when I'm working on my own, I'm cutting things down to twenty minutes at a time. 20 minutes, break. 20 minutes, break. And I'm surprised at how much quality stuff I can get done in that time.

Low Power Mode. Why haven't I discovered this earlier?
