Using pen and paper instead of a productivity app.
I'm discovering a new rhythm in life.
I began this week telling myself I'm going to be using a certain productivity app for the next seven days. As is often the case, I failed, and began using a different one a couple of days after that bold goal. That isn't the first time this has happened.
But now I'm sick of it. "It" being the wealth of productivity apps we have, all clamouring for our attention.
So I've made a radical step (for me) of breaking out my paper journal. In the past couple of days I've written with a pen, and I've written lots.
Sure, I have long-form writing to do - and I'll use Obsidian for that. It's an easy choice, as it's fast, offline, and exports to PDF.
But for everything else, I'm writing by hand. And it feels so good. It's like my mind is having a warm relaxing bath. I'm writing down everything from thoughts to plans to lists. There's something special about the tactile activity of writing, and also turning the pages of my journal.
No app can beat that.
